GCRIS Database Demo English Script

As part of the research ecosystem, the GCRIS Database is an internationally-standardized research information system and open institutional academic repository that allows searching and discovering by relating all research components to each other.

 

EuroCRIS and OpenAIRE compatible GCRIS; It is automatically indexed in systems such as GoogleScholar, BASE, Tübitak Blend; increases the visibility of the institution's research outputs and researchers.

 

On the homepage, are graphs showing the number of research outputs of the institution by years, the distribution of researchers according to the number of citations, and the distribution of the institution's publications according to the Q values. In addition, the most viewed, most downloaded and updated posts are also listed in this area for quick access.

The GCRIS database has 4 main modules: Publications, units, researchers and projects.

 

PUBLICATIONS

Publications module; offers various discovery options for all publications belonging to the institution. By using the search box, publications can be searched with different metrics, and publication lists can be easily accessed according to authors, topics, date ranges and publication types with the Quick discovery facility.

For example, when clicking on any article record from the article list, information about the article can be accessed. Each article is assigned a unique, immutable handle number. In addition, a link is given to the DOI number of the publication in this field.

On the right side of the article record, the number of citations from web of science and scopus, the number of times the article has been viewed in the system, and the Google Scholar link and altmetric information are displayed.

GCRIS includes 23 different types of research components such as projects, equipment, awards, data sets, which include not only publications but also the entire ecosystem of the university, and is Turkey's first data archive.

RESEARCHERS

In the Researchers module, all researchers in the institution can be listed by name or department, and researcher profiles can be examined. Various metrics can also be searched using the search box.

In the researcher profiles, bibliometric information such as the number of publications and citations, H-index, and field-weighted citation effect can be accessed.

Publications; can be filtered by types; Publication date, number of citations, Q value of the journals in which the articles were published can be accessed from the publication lists.

In the left menu, many detailed information such as the researcher's thesis advisory, projects, courses, institutions he worked for, education, biography, competency cloud and awards received.

From the Bibliometrics area that can be accessed after logging into the GRIS database; Detailed information such as the researcher's scientific outputs, citations, thesis advisories and projects can be accessed in 1-5-10 year periods. Publications according to fields and subjects, scientific outputs by years, Q distribution of publications by years and course score graphs according to years can be examined.

UNITS

In the Units module, department-based analysis is offered. All departments are listed in this field, or a department-based search can be made with the search box.

When the Bibliometrics button is clicked, all the charts and lists that we see in the Researcher profile can be accessed on a departmental basis.

PROJECTS

There is also a separate module for projects, which are one of the most important components of a research system. Projects can be listed by using various metrics in this area, and the number of projects by year can be explored and examined.
